Third Poll in a Week Shows Scott Walker at 50 Percent in Wisconsin Recall Race

In the past week, three different pollsters have polled the Wisconsin recall race, and all three came up with virtually identical results. Last week, a Rasmussen poll showed Governor Scott Walker leading Democrat Tom Barrett 50 percent to 45 percent. Yesterday, the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling showed Walker leading Barrett 50 percent to 45 percent. And today, a new Marquette Law School poll shows Walker leading Barrett 50 percent to 44 percent.
If these polls are accurate, that's obviously good news for the governor. With Walker sitting at 50 percent, Barrett not only needs to win over virtually all of the undecided/third-party voters, he must get a sliver of Walker's current supporters to switch their votes or decide to sit out the election and/or increase Democratic turnout. For the past year, the state of Wisconsin has been bombarded with tens of millions of dollars in political ads from both sides. The arguments about Walker have been hashed and rehashed in the media. How many voters are going to change their minds about Walker in the next 20 days?
